CAST OF CHARACTERS

Johan Alberts - Free-Spirited Artist
Mary Anne Richman - Curator with a Wild Side
Kevin Hays - Culinary Ninja
Scene: Sunset at the Lodge the night before.
Rob gathers the crew for some next day planning.
Rob: Alright guys, it's time to plot our moves. Tomorrow morning, we rise with the sun and head to the Tower Lookout. We'll pack firewood and cook a kick-ass breakfast over the fire at one of the Bomas.
Kevin: Picture this, eggs, flatbreads, cheeses, pate, fresh fruit, yogurts, homemade granola, and your choice of Bloody Mary’s or hot coffee with Amarula….that'll make your taste buds dance.
Johan: Remember that amazing sighting of those lion cubs playing by the riverbed we came across the last time? They were mock chasing those baboons who were barking like crazy! Let's soak in the magic and see what nature surprises us with. No rush, just good vibes. We'll stay as long as we please.
Mary Anne: Totally, Johan! I've got our backs with bevs and snacks. If we stumble upon a spectacular sighting and decide to extend the adventure, we won't go hungry or thirsty.
Rob: When we finally head back to camp, I plan to take a refreshing plunge in the pool, then chill on the patio. Our chef's got a light, healthy lunch waiting for us.
Johan: I'm all about capturing our bushwacking through our journaling session. It'll help us embrace the groove and amp up our wildlife encounters. From a majestic bird feather to a funky-colored mega-sized moth or a tiny tree frog, there's so much to savor!
Rob: Remember, it's all optional. Those who wanna hang with me can soak up my endless bush stories. I’m getting ready for a wild brain-picking session!
Mary Anne: OK Rob, so what secret spot have you found for us for dinner? Loved that evening we sat quietly watching the sunset at that lookout and a herd of elephant magically appeared out of the riverbed?
Rob: That’s the spot! I've snagged us the Beacon Boma deep in the bush for our stargazing braai (BBQ). Prepare for surprise hyena sightings. They're all about patiently waiting for us to leave so they can feast on the leftovers. Hyenas usually make their cameo in the morning and vanish as soon as our ride rolls in.
We’ve also had a honey badger show up to see what it can scrounge. This is once-in-a-lifetime, my friends.
Kevin: I've been mixing up a cocktail game with that local gin. You gotta try it! Plus, I've got some new wines from small vineyards to pair with our dinner. And check this out, I've spiced up the steaks with my Montreal Spice blend. Get ready for flavor explosions! Johan, your legendary Braaibroodjies are a must-have. Enlighten us about these mouthwatering wonders!
Johan: Trust me Kev, they're a flavor fiesta! Traditional Afrikaans vibes. Toasties piled on toasties. It's a freakin' taste revolution!
Mary Anne: Love that the boma's got an above-ground platform. We should head there early evening for sun-downers and witness the wild riverbed action. It's prime time to catch those elusive nocturnal creatures. Bonus - the boma's got a bathroom! No need to rush back to camp for a quick pit stop. We'll savor every moment, every creature encounter, and every wild sensation without any worries.
Rob: Absolutely, Mary Anne! We're the rulers of our adventure. So, when we're ready to wrap up the boma cookout, we'll set up our flashlights and hop in our vehicle back to the lodge. If luck has it, we might catch the awe-inspiring sound of a lion's roar. We'll chase that adrenaline rush and follow that roar, 'cause we've witnessed lions using our vehicle as their stealthy hunting cover at night. It's a real mind-blowing thrill.
Mary Anne: The best part of this wild safari is the freedom to live in the moment. We get to call the shots and decide what we want to do and how long we want to stay out in the bush. No traditional safari can match this level of spontaneity. It's a totally unique experience that'll leave us craving for more.
The crew exchanges excited looks, ready to embark on this unstructured, exhilarating journey.
FADE OUT.
